You are not alone, you are always connected with the divine which is everywhere, every time and in every one of us’
Live a Life Free of Stress
Recollect the last time you felt stuck and incapable. Like there was no way out of a situation. Somewhere in the the mind you still possess knowledge and skill, but both seemed to fail you. Does the feeling sound familiar? It is stress, and unfortunately in the present world no one is alien to it.
And what is the cause for stress? Simply put, stress is caused either because of the lack of resources or the lack of time. Resources could be money, manpower or capability. Trying to cope with a deficiency in any of these areas creates stress. We however love labeling every negative emotion as stress. But remember ‘Stress’ is very different from other negative emotions like fear, worry, doubt or even anger because of the physical changes the body experiences when the mind is stressed
A physiological change in the body may or may not have a psychological effect on a person; however, it is impossible that a psychological change leaves the physical body unaffected.
It is therefore important not just to manage stress but to understand & eliminate it.
Stress is a psychological change and it creates four very specific negative physical changes in the body:
- Improper blood circulation
- Irregular bowel movement
- Instant changes in lymphatic fluids and lastly
- Hormone imbalance
Each of these physical changes further cascade into other irregularities in the system with far reaching and fairly serious consequences.
A life without problems is wishful thinking, but whether to be stressed about those problems or not, is up to us. Every response we have to a circumstance is a choice we have made, consciously or unconsciously.
But know that one is always more powerful than the problem because we human beings are made not just of a physical body but also of non-physical Divinity. I shall give you an example that proves this beautifully; an O +ve mother can give birth to a B +ve child. But once this child is born, it cannot give its blood to the mother who has delivered it.
Being conscious of one’s reaction to a potentially stressful situation and reminding oneself of the profound truth that ‘I am always more powerful than the situation I face’ might not make the problem disappear, however it will instantly reduce the stress and therefore its damaging effects on the body and on the mind.
Knowing the effects of stress on your body and mind gives you the responsibility towards yourself to manage stress; because it is possible, and you can. You are not stuck and never alone. That which has created the entire universe is there with you and within you.
I will now discuss some ways to effortlessly avoid Stress and its negative effects thereof.
It is a known fact that Stress is not a physiological condition or a genetic disorder it is an absolute condition of the mind. A belief system or judgement of the mind that varies from person to person and needs just you to handle.
Stress is of two kinds, intrapersonal or interpersonal. It is your mind believing that something is not happening or not going to happen the way you want it to.
The effects of stress irrespective of the cause being personal or professional, good or bad are the same, a toll on the body and mind. Listening to motivational talks, medicines or empathy can never reduce stress. One’s determination and effort is all it takes. It is essential for one to take control of stress because the presence of stress affects progress and performance while the absence of stress can accelerate progress and performance.
To handle a situation and have a positive outcome it is not about how much others believe in you or you believe in others it’s finally about how much you believe in yourself. Handling stress is a skill that can be practiced and perfected with a little awareness and conviction in the power of oneself.
When stressed, ask yourself; “Do I have a solution for the situation I’m facing?” If you see no possibility of a solution then do not spend energy, attention and time on it any further.
This is the first and most important step in dealing with stress and has miraculous results. Instead, start spending energy on situations that can be brought under your control and where you have a choice. And take action. Do not wait for the best resource to be available but start doing the best you can with the resources you have and leave the rest to the universe. It is an untold divine law that when you give your best with what you have the universe will make the best resources available to you. Follow these principles regularly and the rest of life will be the best of life.
