WITH PAIN COMES GREAT STRENGTH
A man used to enjoy the colourful butterflies in his garden. His son also admired its beauty. Once he was watching a butterfly struggling to come out of its cocoon. Unable to see its pain, the boy took a small needle and slit the cocoon, thinking that he made the butterfly’s job easier. But he was sad to see that this butterfly alone wasn’t flying like the others in the garden. The butterfly just crawled around with withered wings and a huge body. It was never able to fly. Although the boy did it with a good intention, he did not know that only by going through struggles the butterfly can emerge to be beautiful, with strong wings. Unable to understand this, he asked his father. He then explained that in the name of helping the butterfly, the son has actually disturbed the process of its growth. As it came out of the cocoon before its full growth, the butterfly has lost the ability to fly.
In our life many times we feel sad about the struggles that we are going through. We keep asking ourselves why only me! We think that it’s only we who is going through this pain and all around us are happy. It’s not true. Everybody has got their own phase of problems in life. Life has its ups and downs.
SELF-HELP IS THE BEST HELP
To live a peaceful life, you need four parameters: good health, happiness in family, financial abundance and intellectual capacity. Not everyone is blessed with all four. Each one is weak in each different area. God knows which area has to be strengthened or which area you are weak in. He then makes you go through struggles in life to strengthen that area to achieve success in future. For some people, it’s health and for others it might be financial abundance. Whatsoever it is, God makes you face challenging situations to bring out the real strength in you to face and solve any problem in life. How much ever help you receive from others, the best help is the help you receive from your own self. Therefore the best thing you can do is to help others to help their own self. Our ancient scriptures and religious books insist on the same thing. Quran says that Allah is ready to help the soul which is ready to help their own self. The highest quote of Bhagavad-Gita is “Lift yourself to lift others”. Jesus also preaches the same thing. God helps those who help themselves.
It is not that God is making some people suffer and offering miracles to others. Miracles happen automatically to people who are ready to work on their own self; those who are ready to take efforts to overcome any situation.
Salvation is a possibility for those who are ready to face the struggles and solve the problem. At that very moment, you get all the required resources to come out of an obstacle. According to Vedas and Shastras, no hand will come to wipe out your tears when you are in trouble. It’s only the divine hand which will wipe out your tears. And it’s your duty to realise that your own hand is that divine hand which will hold you during difficult situations. When you realise this, you are not only the source who is going to come out of the pain and suffering for yourself but also the source for others to come out of their pain and suffering.
DIVINE POWER IS WITHIN YOU
Remember that you are not competing with anyone outside you; you are always in competition with your own self. Never try to be better than anyone, rather try to be better than what you used to be. Do not fear, as in this process you are not alone, you are always guided and protected by the Divine.
When you are aware that this Divine power is with you always, you are no more a part of any race; your life will be filled with divinity in every aspect.
So happily accept that all these struggles in the present are making you prepare for unstoppable peace and prosperity for the future. Always remember that every time you go through some kind of pain, it’s the strength you gain to achieve success in the future. This is the highest teaching of nature for human beings.
Wishing you a life of peace, success and happiness.
