Pongal celebrates the relationship between humanity and nature. It isn’t just a celebration, it is celebrating and showing gratitude to nature.
Pongal – The Celebration of Everlasting Prosperity
It is again that time of the year where the country celebrates Pongal or Sankranti with much merriment with their loved ones.
Today I shall share with you some insights into this very unique and wonderful festival of our land.
The First day of Pongal celebration is Bhogi, the day of removing all the negativity to create space for prosperity. To receive peace and prosperity, it is first essential to eliminate the things that block them, and which disturb the existing peace and prosperity. Bhogi is the elimination of the unwanted within ourselves and creating space for receiving.
The second day is the day of gratitude towards the Nature, Sun, the Farmers and all that helps agriculture which is the essential source of our very existence, Mangala Thai Pongal, the day to celebrate positivity, prosperity and happiness in life.
The third day is to celebrate with the entire community and all the things that help us achieve all we want in life.
The last day celebration is Kaanum Pongal, the day of creating the future full of fortune ; knowing that you will have enough for today and for the future. Every one of us with conscious effort should know that we are going to have a great and prosperous life.
Pongal is celebrated all over India, as Makar Sankranti, Lohri, Bihu etc. Whatever name it may be called, what makes this festival unique is that, it is the only festival that is not identified with any specific God, religion or community ! It only celebrates the relationship between humanity and nature. It isn’t just a celebration, it is celebrating and showing gratitude to nature.
Another specialty of Pongal is that the common man prays directly to God, no agent as an intermediary is needed and no rituals are involved.
You communicate directly with God; what you offer is the best offering and your prayer is the best prayer for God. Neither is there any specific prescribed time for celebration; there is no ‘good time’ to celebrate Pongal.
Anytime is a good time for the entire family from kids to the elderly to celebrate together and for elders to bless those younger with a great future.
Not just on Pongal, gift yourself a powerful new life and a powerful new you by constantly eliminating the negative and non-essential to see a positive shift. Once you do what is needed, it is nature’s nature to shower you with positivity and abundance!
Wishing you a life of peace, prosperity and abundance.
